Enoch David Christopher Reed ( 1845-1930) was born in Franklin County, Alabama
to Enoch and Mariah ( Johnson) Reed . Enoch David served as a Captain in the Civil War , was wounded and discharged. He was
one of six sons of Enoch and Mariah that served his country in the Civil War. After he retured home he married Sara Loutisha
(West) . They married 4th September,1868 in Franklin County, Alabama. Enoch David Christopher and Sara Loutisha
had six children. Their oldest son was Joseph Johnson Reed ( 1872-1932) ,next Enoch Benjamin Reed ( 1873-1933), William
Jesse Reed (1876-1948) , Sara Jane Reed (1878-1906) ,James Littleton Reed (1882-1956) ,and Thomas Calvin Reed (1884-1959)
. The family came to Arkansas from Alabama about 1889/1890 and settled in Steve , Yell County , Arkansas. Sara
Loutisha died in 1904 after their move to Arkansas. She is buried in the Nooner Cemetery , Yell County, Arkansas
. Enoch David remarried after Sara Loutisha died . He married Mary E. Jones on 13 October 1904 in Danville
, Yell County, Arkansas . Enoch David was buried in the Sunlight Cemetery in Yell County, Arkansas .

Papa Reed ( Enoch Benjamin ) had very red hair . I am sure he was proud of that red hair and that was one of the things that
caught Arbelia ( Farmer) Reed's eye in those early days. Enoch Benjamin meet and married Arbelia ( Farmer) Reed on 9th day
of April, 1898 . Enoch Benjamin and Arbelia's children were , Ida Mae (Reed) Hollimon (1900-1952) ,Effie Lee (Reed) McBride
(1902-1985) ,Jesse H. Reed (1906-1977) and Lula Marie (Reed) Woodard (1908-2000). They also had a son, Earl Reed ( 1904-1905)
that is buried in the Nooner Cemetery , Yell County , Arkansas .
This is a very good picture of Joseph Johnson and his brother Enoch Benjamin Reed . In this
photo you can see Joseph is a dresser and probably a charmer of the ladies of his day. Enoch Benjamin has a more serious look
and was a sharp dresser for his day as well . The fellows were probably on their way to Church just up the road .

Mathious Calvin Reed was born on September 22, 1857 in Newburg , Alabama . His mother named
him after her father , Mathias Yocum . He was only 7 yrs. old when his father was killed in the Civil War . He lived close
to both his grandmother Reed and his grandfather Yocum and probably knew them well . He is one of four children , having 2
brothers and a sister. It was about 1888 when they left Alabama and came to Yell County . After his wife Mary ( Jackson )
Reed died in 1910 , Mathious married a second wife , Lizzie Arnold in 1914 . By this time , he was living in Danville
, having previously lived in Manning and Belleville ,Arkansas . Mathious had owned 69 acres in both Belleville and Danville
, later owning two lots in the city limits of Danville , Yell County , Arkansas . Mathious Calvin died in 1918 at the age
of 61 yrs and is buried in the Riley Creek Cemetery near Danville , Yell County , Arkansas. His personal property was appraised
in January of 1919 as follows : 11 head of hogs valued at $100 which were already the property ofwife Lizzie . Mathious Calvin
had :2 heifers valued at $ 75 , 1 log wagon valued at $ 2.50 , 31 bushels of wheat valued at $ 54 , and 60 bushels of corn
valued at $ 90 . His father was Issac M. Reed and his mother was Susan ( Yocum ) Reed .

A. Reed was very involved with the Reed Family Tree and part of the Dedication of the Reed Cemetery in 2009 in Franklin
County, Alabama . We are very proud that he is a Reed Boy and apart of our lives. He will be greatly missed .

Henderson J. Reed (1917-1980 ) was the son of James Littleton and Mary ( Brannom
) Reed . Henderson was 62 years at time of his death. He was born 21 August 1917 in Ar. and died 06 July 1980 in Houston
, Texas where he had been a resident for 28 yrs. Henderson Reed served in the Military in World War 11 . Henderson
J. Reed was a Sgt in the US Army.
He was married at time of death ( private) and has two sons and daughters living . He
was the brother of Carl Reed ( 1914-1991 ). His funeral was held in Christ Church Cathedral of Houston and he was buried in
the Hollywood Cemetery in Houston , Tx.
Howard Eugene Reed ( 1940-1993 ) was born 09 Feburary 1940 and died 03 September
1993 in Los Angles , Calif. He was the son of David Edderage Reed , grandson of William Jesse Reed , great granson of
Enoch David Reed and gggrandson of Enoch Reed ( 1809 ) . He has a daughter living .
John Allen Reed ( 1861-1942 ) was born December 1861 in Franklin Co. Alabama
. He was son of Issac Marion Reed [1833-1863] and Susan ( Yocum ) Reed[1834-1923]
John Allen was the grandson of Enoch Reed ( 1809 ) and Mariah ( Johnson
) Reed ( 1811 ) of Franklin Co. Al. His father Issac M. Reed died in the Civil War .
John A.Reed married Sarah E. Kimbrough [1865-1929] They were married
in 1888 in Al.
They had the following children together .

Memories, what great memories I have of this old house. It was always
a great adventure to me when we went to visit Mama Reed ( Arbelia ). I can almost close my eye and see what the house looked
like . I loved the smell of all the food cooking on that old wood stove . Mama Reed made the best biscuits and homemade breads
. I loved to just watch her as she was busy around the kitchen . Then when it was time for the outside chores , I was ready
to go . I was just a young child but those memories have stayed with me for all these years . Mama Reed had such patience
and understanding with all her grandchildren . Night time was special if we stayed over. I would try my best to stay awake
and listen to all the stories and adventures they talked about. I have put all those precious memories in a special place
in my heart and passed as many of them as I can remember to my daughter and grandchildren. I think a house or place people
live picks up feelings, vibrations and they are always there for people to feel when you visit that special place . There
are so many happy memories in and around that old homeplace.

This sketch of an old County Church so reminds me of the old Church that set just across the
road from the Riley Creek Cemetery. The Church that so many people had attended thru the years. It sets there,
silence is all around , except maybe the song of a red bird as it sails by. That is not the way I remember it
as a child . When we arrived for Decoration Day , there would be many people there. That little church was just a buzz of
noises as people were greeting one another . I remember the preacher getting up to preach , and silence would just spread
across that small country church. The ladies would be using those old cardboard fans , and some of the little ones would
cry . Then came that great old gospel music that touched your heart and soul . There is nothing like the sound of
" Amazing Grace " as it floated out thru those old windows for everyone to hear . Memories , memories are one gift from God
that nothing can ever take away.

Jesse H. Reed was born 7th day of August , 1906 to Enoch Benjamin and Arbelia (Farmer) Reed
of Steve, Yell County , Arkansas. Jesse meet and married Jearlene (Lassiter) Reed . Jesse was a retired produce dealer
and former employee of REA Express . He was a member of the Eva Lane Church of Christ in Little Rock , Arkansas where
he lived. He and Jearlene had four children together. One child was B/D . The other three children are living. Jearlene was
born in 1915 and passed away 1953 . Jesse H. never remarried . He died 13th of July , 1977 and was buried next to his wife
Jearlene ( Lassiter ) Reed in the Russell Cementery , Belleville , Yell County, Arkansas .

La Guna Niguel , Orange County , CA. He married private , 21 December 1946 in Ft. Smith , AR. He was the twin
brother of Winnie E. ( Reed ) Bozanich ( 1919-1984 ) . Wayne served his country for five years in WW11 . Wayne Edgar
and Spouse : private , have children living. He went into the barber/styling business and owned several shops when he
died . Wayne was a member of the First Methodist Church of Santa Monica , Calif.
Wayne Reed was the youngest brother of Lawrence Reed and a twin brother of Winnie Reed. A very handsome
young man . Photo was taken about 1935 .

add him to our Reed Boys .

Enoch Reed was born 1809 in Ga. We know he was a man with a vision and a dream to make a better life
for his children he had with his wife Mariah ( Johnson) Reed . Enoch was looking for a place to settle and raise his family
. Those travels led him and Mariah to Franklin County , Alabama . The more I learn about him in researching , show me what
a great man he really was . He was not only a farmer but had the skill of making shoes and tanning leather . Enoch was a man
who sent six sons to fight in the Civil War and he lost three of them . I know that pain must have been hard to bear . Enoch
established " The Reed Family Cemetery " on his own land . He and his Mariah were buried there . He left a great legacy when
he died , all his children and all the children that have and will follow . That's what makes a Family Tree so special.
That is the reason we must always remember those who have gone before us , so they will never be forgetten.
